Choosing a Well Pump

When you start looking into well tanks, you will also need to check into well pumps. Luckily, it is not that difficult to find information on well pumps so you can make the right decision. If you have above ground storage tanks or something of that nature you will probably still need a pump, and a well pump might work in some situations. When you start looking for a well pump, whether it is for your well or chemical storage tanks, you will want it to be able to pump a gallon of water ever minute for every faucet it supplies water to. This is known as gpm, gallon per minute, when you are shopping. Therefore, if you have two showers, a kitchen sink, and an outside spigot then you will want it to be able to pump at least four gallons per minute. The total lift is important to consider when looking for a pump. This means the vertical distance from the highest point where water is pumped to the water level. Do not buy a water pump that is too powerful because it will actually fail sooner. Buy the right size for your well for best results.
